Gift of God
Numbers 6:24-26 - "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace."
Note: In the Old Testament, the Hebrew word for "peace" is shalom, pronounced shah-LOHM (Ref. 2). Shalom means peace, completeness, well-being, safety, and prosperity (Ref. 2). Shalom was a formula for wishing well and blessing, addressed by the Hebrews to departing friends (Ref. 3, 1 Samuel 1:17, 1 Samuel 20:42).

Seek Peace
Great Peace
Prince of Peace
Isaiah 9:6 - "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
Note: The title, "Prince of Peace," applies exactly to Christ, who is our peace (Micah 5:5, Ephesians 2:14). Christ is the only procurer of peace between God and mankind (Isaiah 53:5), and between Jews and Gentiles (Ephesians 2:15 NLT). Christ leaves as his legacy peace to his disciples (John 14:27, John 16:33) (Ref. 4).

Perfect Peace
Isaiah 26:3 - "You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you."
Peace Like a River
Isaiah 48:18 - "Oh that you had paid attention to my commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea."
Chastisement for Our Peace
Isaiah 53:5 NKJV - "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed."
Christ Shall Be Our Peace
Micah 5:2, 4-5a NASB 1995 - "But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago,
from the days of eternity.... 4 And He will arise and shepherd His flock in the strength of the Lord, in the majesty of the name of the Lord His God. And they will remain, because at that time He will be great to the ends of the earth. 5 This One will be our peace."

Proclaimed by Angels
Luke 2:13-14 NASB 1995 - "And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly army of angels praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among people with whom He is pleased."
Note: In the New Testament, the Greek word for "peace" is eiréné (pronounced: ay-RAY-nay). Eiréné means peace, wholeness, prosperity, and harmony (Ref. 3). The Greek word for peace, eiréné, is equivalent in meaning to the Hebrew word for peace, shalom (Ref. 2).

Legacy of Christ
John 14:27 - "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."
Note: Christ is the Giver of peace. He, not the world, is the source for our peace. Note also that in John 14:27 and John 16:33 Jesus is giving peace as a blessing (in the sense of the Hebrew shalom) to his disciples -- to his friends, to us who believe in him -- at his departure.
John 16:33 - "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

John 20:19 - "On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, 'Peace be with you.'" (John 20:26 is similar.)
Greetings in Paul's Epistles

In 1 Timothy 1:2 and 2 Timothy 1:2, Paul includes mercy -- "grace, mercy, and peace."
